- Licensed Camp Aide - Secrest

The Day Camp Secrest Aide is responsible for providing supervision, instruction, and ongoing assistance to the campers as well as assisting the Camp Secrest Leads in
facilitating, developing and implementing daily programming. A primary function of this role is to ensure that each camper and family receives the highest caliber of service. The Camp Secrest Aide will be assigned tasks (set up/take down of equipment/supplies, etc.); assigned to supervise campers and assigned to assist in implementing activities; follow protocol regarding handling of behaviors and support staff that need to administer all medical protocols; communicate all pertinent issues affecting programs to the Camp Secrest Leads and Camp Secrest Directors; establish good rapport with families of the program campers as well as keeping them informed about concerns affecting the campers.
Daily schedule will vary between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday from May 26 through August 15
Paid Training March-May.
Parent meeting will be held at Secrest Recreation Center on May 21, 2026.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Must work directly under the supervision of the program director or program leaders and must never be left alone with children under the age of 18.
- Will receive First Aid, CPR, and Universal Precautions Certified within 90 days of hire.
- Must complete up to 15 hours of training before May 29, 2026.
- Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection.
- Provide three references.
Education and Experience
- Enrolled or have completed high school or GED program.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Experience taking care of children, ages 8 to 12 years, in a public atmosphere is required.
- Must have customer service experience and good conflict management skills.
- Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and crafts projects is also desired.
- Ability to be on your feet for 6-8 hours and lift 40 lbs.

Work Environment
- Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.
- Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
- The position may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, chemically treated water, or other environmental irritants.
- Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.
- Occasional travel by vehicle may be required, with exposure to traffic, road construction, and varying road conditions.
- Some tasks will be performed in wet, humid, or damp environments, such as pools or aquatic facilities.
Physical Activities
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks.
- Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision.
- Ability to climb, crawl, or maneuver in tight spaces to complete maintenance or activity-related tasks.
- Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.
- Ability to maintain balance and coordination while assisting with physical activities or working on uneven terrain.
- Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time.
- Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies.
- Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
- Ability to work most of the day on your feet, performing both active supervision and hands-on tasks.
