POSITION TITLE: Medical Trauma Program Director and Child Protection Team Medical Provider
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Under direction of the Executive Director, the Medical Trauma Program Director is responsible for the day to day on site supervision of the Child Protection Team (CPT) medical providers, as well as for the services and standards as outlined in the CPT Procedure Handbook. The Medical Trauma Program Director position includes participation in rotation of on call services (during non-business hours and weekends for emergency joint response) with the other CPT Medical Providers.
REPORTS TO: Juliette Kong – Chief Executive Officer at Kids House
POSITION TYPE: Full- time
REQUIREMENTS: Must have prior supervisory experience. Holds current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license from the state of Florida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance and maintains national certification as an APRN or PA. Experience in the evaluation and treatment of child abuse and neglect OR agree to receive training deemed necessary by the Department of Health for evaluating abuse and neglect. Provides proof of proficiency in Basic Life Support (BSL) (ACLS preferred but not required).
Other Quality Ranking Factors:
° Ability to communicate effectively with children and adolescents, ranging in age from infants to 17 years of age.
° Academic training or practical experience in and knowledge of developmental stages of children and the dynamics and effects of child abuse.
° Disposition toward multi-disciplinary team approach to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.
° Understanding of Non-Profit Organization Dynamics.
° Knowledge and Use of appropriate Professional Ethics and Standards.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
° Supervision and coordination of daily activities of medical providers
° Develop and maintain medical trauma program and its policies
° Coordination of and participation in training Advent Health pediatric residents
° Participate in child abuse trainings provided to local community and Kids House partners.
° Provide diagnostic evaluations and medical consultations for children with allegations of abuse or neglect
° Prepare written reports of evaluations and consultations
° Provide depositions and court testimony as required
° Successful completion of continuing educations standards that include a minimum of eight hours of training per year in child abuse, abandonment and neglect
° Participate in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities
° Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed
° Support quality standards and initiatives set by the Child Protection Team
