Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (required). Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years in road/highway construction, with at least 5 years in project management role.
- Proven track record managing large infrastructure projects with significant budget responsibility.
- Experience in international infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent project management software.
- Strong knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and standard procurement practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of the Arabic language is an asset.
Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale road construction project. The successful candidate will oversee all project activities from mobilization through completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role demands strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple contractors, consultants, and stakeholders in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the overall Project Execution Plan, schedule, and resource plan.
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Monitor milestones and take corrective action to address delays or deviations.
- Manage the project budget, review contractor payment applications, and control costs.
- Administer contracts and process variation orders and claims in a timely manner.
- Prepare regular reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Act as the primary contact between the client, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
- Lead regular progress meetings and submit timely progress reports.
- Manage community relations and resolve issues arising from construction activities.
- Ensure all works comply with project quality standards and inspection/testing plans.
- Enforce the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) plan and conduct regular site audits.
- Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of engineers, surveyors, and support staff.
- Identify capacity gaps and support professional development within the team.
