Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all work adhering to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policiesKeep records of hour meter readings for power equipment at assigned locationComplete and record all scheduled required servicingMaintain all tools in good working orderReport to small tools superintendent on each visual inspection of problems that would require replacement or major repairNotify supervisor of any complications when servicing that would make equipment inoperableOverhaul small gas and diesel engines Keep a check and balance on parts and toolsMaintain cleanliness of work site and toolsReport all oil spills to supervisorTrain on use and maintenance of new toolsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in small tools mechanics or work experience.
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
- Occasionally required to:
- Stand, walk, sit
- Use hands to finger and feel
- Talk or hear
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Drive up to 2 hours
- Occasionally exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Fumes or airborne particles
- Travel up to 2 hours
- Required to work outdoors in all environments at times
- Hours regularly exceed 40/week and 8/day overtime when needed
- Noise level is usually moderate
