An Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistant (PA) specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing acute, high-impact bone, joint, and muscle injuries. Working under a supervising surgeon, they provide comprehensive care, including emergency room consultations, first-assisting in complex surgeries, managing inpatient rounding, and providing postoperative care
Requirements
Clinical Evaluation: Perform physical examinations, obtain histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs) for patients with complex, acute injuries. Surgical Assistance: Act as first-assist in the operating room for fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries. Procedural Care: Perform fracture management, splinting, casting, wound closures, joint injections, and reductions. Inpatient/ED Coverage: Conduct ER consults, respond to trauma activations, and manage inpatient rounding. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based, patient-specific treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons.
