We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual to join the Town of Innisfil and our Capital Engineering team in this exciting and current vacancy as Capital Project Manager - Roads, Traffic and Transportation! In this role, you will make a lasting impact on our forward-thinking organization and rapidly-growing community.
As Capital Project Manager - Roads, Traffic and Transportation, you will be committed to the guiding values of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, and will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of capital infrastructure projects and studies, and will provide recommendations for addressing road, traffic and transportation related issues, as well as:
- Overseeing the design of traffic-related systems including parking lots, pavement markings, traffic signage, traffic control signals, traffic monitoring, communication and illumination systems using various planning and design tools and techniques
- Project managing and coordinating projects and studies, including request for proposal preparation, design oversight, permitting, tendering, managing consultants and contractors, and providing construction oversight to ensure compliance with municipal and provincial standards
- Conducting site inspections for capital infrastructure works, monitoring design and construction progress; providing direction on design and construction changes for assigned projects
- Coordinating and participating on the planning of the Town’s transportation system such as transportation master plans, parking plans, GO stops/station planning, future bus routes, traffic calming systems and measures, traffic control signals, street signing, and pavements markings
- Identifying existing and future potential operational deficiencies on the road network, considering collision rates, traffic control restrictions, design geometry and traffic signals, and recommending road and traffic improvements
- Preparing staff reports, council memos, briefing notes, policies, by-laws, standards and procedures for traffic related issues such as traffic calming measures, community safety zones, stop signs, parking restrictions, signals warrants, and pedestrian safety crossings
Requirements
Requirements:
- A University Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer’s (P.Eng.) designation with a minimum of seven (7) years of significant demonstrated engineering experience. Municipal infrastructure and engineering experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of transportation planning, traffic engineering practices, Provincial legislation, standards and Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) guidelines.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation would be an asset.
- A valid Class “G” driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
- Availability to attend evening meetings or other events, when necessary.
Closing date is October 22, 2026.
The salary range for this position is $98,230 - $125,372 per annum (Based on a 35-hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
