About the position
The Principal Project Manager, Inland Rail leads Council’s Inland Rail interface team, with the purpose of maximising project benefits and minimising potential adverse community and project impacts across the Toowoomba Region.
The Inland Rail Project is a nationally significant infrastructure project that promises to deliver substantial economic benefit to the Toowoomba Region.
This is a temporary full-time position, available for an initial 3-year appointment, with the possibility of extension (subject to ongoing project funding).
The position is based in the Toowoomba CBD, with free parking provided.
The annual salary range for this position is $123,226.69 to $138,941.51 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

About the team
The Project Services Branch forms part of the Infrastructure Services Group, and is a project management office that manages the delivery of major road, drainage, park, sports facility, bridge, building, business system and change projects, primarily for Council client areas. We look for strong values-based leaders who are confident in dynamic business environments, and with a desire to serve our community.
In addition to direct project and program management; the Project Services Branch also play a key role in interfacing with major infrastructure projects across the region as they arise, including Inland Rail.

Requirements
How to be successful in this position:
Degree qualified Civil Engineer with experience in the successful delivery and management of community infrastructure projects.
Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations and draft high quality reports.
Experience leading diverse project teams in a collaborative, solutions focused environment.
A highly developed understanding of project management frameworks and relevant legislation, codes and standards.
High level problem solving and research/analytical skills including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations.
Ability to innovate, to be flexible and responsive in the face of change and disruption and make decisions within accepted parameters.
