Arizona Advanced Surgery (AAS) is seeking an experienced Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon to join our team as Associate Trauma Medical Director. Become a vital part of our prestigious team at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC), one of Arizona’s busiest and most renowned trauma centers. Located in the vibrant city of Mesa, Arizona, BDMC is a 600 plus-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital known for delivering exceptional care in trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery. We are an Arizona state designated Level I Trauma Center and an ACS-verified Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. Our program sees over 3500 trauma activations annually, including over 500 pediatric trauma activations in conjunction with our Pediatric Surgery team.
Position Overview: The Associate Trauma Medical Director will work closely with the Trauma Medical Director and AAS/BDMC leadership to strengthen trauma and acute care surgery operations, quality improvement, and performance initiatives. As part of the Trauma program at BDMC, the Trauma Surgeon will join a dynamic team, covering trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery services.
Our program: As a Trauma Surgeon with AAS, you will have the unique opportunity to focus on high-acuity trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery. We are staffed with 7 full-time Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons and 10 dedicated Physician Assistants. In addition, you will work closely with General Surgery residents during EGS shifts, providing mentorship and shaping the next generation of surgeons in a dynamic hospital-based setting.

Requirements
@Applicants must be Board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and have completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a busy trauma center. Candidates must have strong administrative, leadership, and quality improvement skills.
