University of South Alabama
The University of South Alabama invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Emergency Medical Services within the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professsions. This is a faculty leadership position at the academic rank of Senior Instructor.
The Chair is expected to provide strategic vision and leadership to the Department, which offers B.S. degrees in Emergency Medical Services and Professional Health Sciences, alongside a nationally respected certificate program in EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic.
Position Qualifications
Required:
Education: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field.
Certification: Active National Registry certification as a paramedic.
Experience: Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, clinical education, and service to the local medical community.
Highly Desirable:
Experience with the CoAEMSP accreditation process.
Post-primary certifications.
Evidence of scholarly research.
