Description

The Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector is responsible for inspecting residential and commercial properties to 
ensure compliance with building, zoning, fire, life safety, and municipal codes. This role is critical to maintaining 
the safety, integrity, and overall development of the Village, as well as ensuring compliance and proper 
maintenance of existing structures and occupancy standards.

Requirements

-High school diploma or equivalent required. 
-ICC certifications in Commercial and Residential Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plan Review, and 
Property Maintenance/Housing Certificate, or ability to obtain within first six months of employment 
will be considered.

-Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in municipal inspections or a combination of relevant education, 
training, and experience. 
- Valid Illinois Class D Driver’s License. 
-Familiarity with International Building Code (IBC) and National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred
