Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a General Internist in the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM).This opportunity can accommodate a provider looking for a part-time or full-time M-F days position.(Any position at least half-time receives an excellent benefits package - including full medical/dental and some benefits prorated if less than 1.0).
GIM at Hennepin Healthcare is a vibrant academic practice that provides clinical, teaching, and other scholarly opportunities. There are clinical opportunities across a variety of outpatient settings. Research, teaching, and quality improvement opportunities are regularly available. The ideal candidate is capable and interested in providing full-spectrum primary care including treatment of physical health, mental health, and substance use conditions.Inpatient opportunities may be available for providers interested in a combined outpatient/inpatient practice.
GIM offers a flexible, purpose driven career providing excellent clinical care while supporting physicians to develop their unique interests. This role would primarily work in our flagship downtown clinic, but additional clinical opportunities include Health Care for the Homeless, Hennepin County Jail, Brooklyn Park Clinic, resident clinic, and acute care. Our downtown clinic is supported by a multidisciplinary team including social work, care coordinators, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, and integrated behavioral health specialists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diagnose, treat, and manage chronic physical health, mental health, and substance use conditions

Promote preventative health care with screenings, immunizations, education, and appropriate health maintenance

Supervision ofapproximately 3-6 staff residents in the clinic on a weekly basis

Regularly contribute to educational opportunities and didactics for medical students and residents

On call via pager at nightapproximately 1-2 days per month
Minimum Qualifications
-
Current License to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility for)

BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years of completing training

Candidates must be able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, inclusive of advanced practice providers, physicians, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, social workers, behavioral health clinicians, and community health works
