What You'll Do:
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution infrastructure
Operate heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and specialized utility equipment
Load, haul, and operate tools and materials used in utility construction and maintenance
Respond to service calls and assist with emergency water system repairs
Support customer notifications and communication during projects and repairs
Maintain accurate documentation and field records
Provide customer service while working in neighborhoods and public areas
Follow established safety standards and maintain a safe work environment
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least one year of experience in utilities, construction, heavy equipment operation, or a related field
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no air brake restriction within 6 months of hire
Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification

Additional Requirement:
Employees assigned to the Utilities Department must establish and maintain a residence within 50 road miles of Columbia City Hall within 90 days of hire.
